As a single parent with two sons ages 7 and 5, I often wonder if I am making the “right” decision about a range of topics from the soap I use to appropriate forms of discipline. I am in constant dialogue with myself regarding the best methods for raising two men. I often quiz mothers and fathers with success stories for insight into this process, but lately I’ve been learning to tune into myself. I’ve realized that what may work for one boy may not work for either of mine and I need to relax and enjoy these moments. I find mommying to be a wonderful adventure. It is a job I take very seriously and it actually is the most important job I have at the moment. It is a blessing to have my boys as they enrich every day of my life. I owe who I am at this very moment to these beautiful beings.
Even if they get into a bit of mischief from time to time, I figure it’s all a part of the adventure. I simply have to teach them to clean up the mess and/or why they should never do what they did again. In the process of teaching my sons I am learning so much including what a DivaMom I actually am. So I figure I’d write about it.

Hi Diva Mom,
I enjoyed reading your blogs! I see that we have something in common-we both are mad about Maxwell. What is your advice as far as getting in touch with him via a letter or electronically on a blog. He is so awesome and I just would like to connect with him in some way at least once in this lifetime.
Also this may be a very well known fact but who is musze that he refers to on his album covers.
Hope you don’t mind me asking these questions but you seem very knowledgeable on the subject.
Peace, Love, Balance,
Namaste

“Self-centered mommyhood” – I love it. That’s how I feel. It’s like becoming a mother is what forced me to really take care of myself. And I owe that to them.
You also wrote on the next page “DivaMoms know that children never prevent you from doing anything but they inspire you to do everything.” Yes!
Thanks for reading CocoaMamas.
